Jackson is a Superkid

I made the trip to Indy today. This journey is tough. Like Cynthia said, much better than I ever could...he has a bad day, and you think it’s bad until you hit the next bad day.

For now we are counting down to better days. Today was uneventful as days go. He slept almost the entire time I was there. Cynthia shared that his hair is falling out. She ran her hand through his hair and the evidence was there. Just another reminder we aren’t mentally prepared for. He’s struggling with sores in his mouth. His mouth and throat are covered with a mucus film and he’s uncomfortable. They are giving him Ativan to keep him calm, and to help him rest. His little body is tired and we know that rest is best. His numbers are bottoming out, exactly like they should. Pray that his ANC recovers, pray that he will be able to go home for a few days...a quick respite from the hospital room and all the beeps and alarms. Pray that Matt and Cynthia will be able to enjoy the comfort that comes from having your family all in one place.

On to the pictures...we know that God works in mysterious ways. This “Jackson is a Superkid” book was a gift from Misti Foreman-Burns. She has walked this road before (and won) and has been such a source of comfort to Cynthia. Misti didn’t know that Jackson has said that someday he wants to take a trip in a space ship with his family. How would she know that? But here it is...in his very own super hero book. Another reminder that God knows every detail of our lives. Another reminder that we let go and Let God.
