Round 3 of Chemo begins tonight! This round will consist of 5 days getting chemo twice a day every twelve hours. Although, the days of chemo have shortened the chemo therapy is more intense. Still requiring us to remain in the hospital for 30 days. The high dose of chemo this round causes the chemo to come out of your eyes causing irritation, burning, infection etc. so they do a preventative eye drop every 6 hours! That should be fun 😫 along with the long list of other side effects.
It has been an extremely long day as we left the house around 4:30am. Jackson had his appointment with his oncologist, CT scans of his lungs to check the progress on the infection (still waiting on final results) he also has his Lumbar Puncture which is the chemo treatment of the spine. He will start his full chemo treatment around 9:00pm tonight.
The truth is none of us wanted to come back this round. Each round gets harder and harder to face as we physically see what “Chemo” does to his body and how dangerous it is for him as he tries to recover. He is in remission meaning that the cancer isn’t the scary part at the moment. The scariest part is ensuring he gets through the treatment without horrible side effects both short term or long term. Praying that the days and nights go smoothly for him. Praying that he has minimal side effects and tolerates the treatment well. Praying he remains joyful and happy like he was at home. His sadness breaks my heart.
We all had such a good time at home making memories and spending quality time together. We are half way done! Two more treatments and we are praying he is done forever. Oh and His ANC was 4400 yesterday! So he rebounded nicely and I believe God just knew we needed that extra week home.
I caught some good pictures of Daddy telling Jackson bye as he headed back to Charleston to be with the other kids. Jackson said Call me tomorrow.
Macy and Colby are adjusting well. It still doesn’t get any easier telling them bye knowing the next 30 days will be pure chaos!
All the prayers are being heard, and are very much appreciated.

One more visit
Our little buddy is heading back to Riley’s soon so we were so happy to squeeze in a little more time with him today. He was thrilled to play with cousin Bug and had to show her all his toys. Even his giraffe, wisely named Spot. Papa and Bug were sporting their new shirts doing some yard work. It was a hot one! We’re praying that all goes well with round 3. Praying for no complications and no infections or other issues this go around. Our buddy is a fighter and we’re so ready to have him home for good.

Boating
This little guy was living his Best Life the last couple days. He kept asking to go camping and boating. These days it’s hard to say No to him. Especially when he closes his hands, tilts his head , and says pawease.
So Daddy and Mommy made it happen. Although Jackson can’t get wet at all we took him on the boat and grabbed lunch on the lake, fed the fish and enjoyed the sunshine and the cool breeze. We all enjoyed the lake.
Tomorrow the in home nurse comes to do labs. We are praying his ANC has rebounded and he will be ready for round #3. Don’t get me wrong we love being home. He is so happy and feels good for the most part. But the longer it gets pushed off the harder it is and it’s that much further to the end for him. We want to be home well before the holidays and able to put this behind us.
If his ANC is over 1,000 tomorrow we check back in on Friday (28th) morning.

Home again
Hey Friends!
Jackson has had a wonderful time being home! He has gotten to see a lot of people and do some fun things like...
Fishing, going to the movies, the wildlife adventure, playing outside, making s’mores, eating at Freddy’s and the Stadium Grill, hanging out with friends and family 🧡 I’m sure I am forgetting things, either way he has really enjoyed being home and taking over mom and dads bed 🤪
Jackson was scheduled to go back tomorrow for round 3.
Unfortunately, when Jackson had his labs today his ANC had dropped to 567 they were at 3200 on Monday. So he gets to stay home for another week with labs being checked again Thursday the 27th.
We are praying it’s just his body working hard fighting his infection and that he continues to feel well while we enjoy another week at home!
As always thank you for the Love and for each of the messages checking on our little guy! We are so thankful for each and everyone of you.
If you picked up your #Jacksonstrong shirts if you take a picture please tag me in them. I would love to see them all and so would Jackson!

Mrs. Spainhour
Jackson is so blessed to have so many wonderful people in his life who love him!
Yesterday his preschool teacher Toni Spainhour from Mark Twain came by the house to bring Jackson some of his favorite things from school and to read him his favorite book.
Toni has been an absolute blessing to Jackson these last 3 years and we are so sad to have to leave her class this coming school year!
We could not ask for better people to love and support him through this journey!

Immanuel Blood Drive
Wow... I can’t even put into words how awesome it was to see everyone today. So many people donating blood to save a life in Jackson’s Honor. Truly amazing!
I will wait for the hosts to post all of their pictures from the event. But I do know that it was a huge success. So much of a success that they had to turn people away. The expected goal was 25 bags and they collected 55 bags. Meaning today together we saved 165 lives.
The event last until 8pm because there were so many doners! Incredible!
I got to see people I hadn’t seen in a very long time and I got some of the best Hugs I have ever gotten. We truly appreciate all of the love and prayers.
Jackson was able to come in for a bit and see a few people. Unfortunately, while we were at the event the nurse called to tell us that his ANC had dropped to 200 so we got him out of there as soon as we could. Otherwise he is loving being home and feeling good.
Thank you to everyone that helped out in any way. Those that donated, volunteered or tried to donate and couldn’t. Your effort and support means so much!
Ps.... huge thank you to winning stitch and Wave Graphics for our shirts! We love them and if you ordered one yours will be ready for pick up or shipping next Thursday!

A visit with Linkoln
Today I was able to take Linkoln to see Jackson for the first time since he was diagnosed back in March. They missed each other so much! It was nice being able to see them laugh and play together. Jackson showed Link all the cool things in the big fun center down stairs and in the little play area upstairs on his floor.
Jackson was having a good day and Cynthia said his ANC was up to 390. We are praying he gets to go home tomorrow.
He misses his family and is ready to be home.
After this round is over he still has 2 more rounds of chemo to endure. Please continue to pray for him and his family.

Colby’s Birthday!
~June 5, 2019 ~
Today is Colby’s Birthday so we celebrated at the hospital with Jackson.
While Grandma Carol Myerscough sat with Jackson we took the big kids to an indoor Go Kart center. Aunt Laura Myerscough Ianello and the girls were able to stop by for a visit.
Jackson is getting better each day. We still haven’t been able to identify the type of fungal infection he has yet. The doctors explained that children with AML are too sick and are at too high of a risk to wait to find out what the infection is to then treat it, so they treat with multiple broad spectrum antibiotics to cover everything while they are doing testing. In doing so sometimes it makes it impossible for them to identify the infection as the Antibotics have already started working. They will continue to treat for a fungal infection for 3 months.
Jackson has started his medicine to stimulate his stomach so he will start eating on his own so we can remove the nutrients from his central line.. He is off morphine as his pain has gotten so much better. He is still on several Antibotics. His ANC was 208 today! The doctors are saying they want his ANC over 500 before we can leave as they are also waiting for other labs to return as well.
We are all ready to be home again and together for a bit. Having our family in two different states and never all together is hard. Seeing Jackson sad and upset because all he wants is to go somewhere or his brother and sister to stay with him breaks my heart. It literally causes me pain to see him so sad. Having to leave any of the kids to go stay with the other is so hard on my momma heart.
Praying he will get to go home soon.
Thanks for all of the prayers and thanks for checking in on our little super hero! Sorry for the delay in updates.
Thanks Rosie Pagliai Lozano for letting Vincent come and hang out. Jackson was thrilled to see him.
Thanks to Immanuel Lutheran Mommas for sending Jackson a big box of goodies! Thank you Tammy Spillman-Zuber for Jacksons gifts! Sanya Sharma Myerscough Jackson is over the moon excited about his giraffe!
