How did we get here?
Exactly 24 hours ago Matt Myerscough & I were waiting on lab results when the doctor walked in and asked us to take a seat because she had bad news...
As I sat down I remember the doctor squatting down in front of us and saying “I’m Sorry but you were right it is Leukemia” as the doctor kept calm and was explaining what they had found. Our breath was taken away in such a way that only returned in painful sobbing which lasted practically the next 12 hours. I can not describe the heart ache that took over our bodies. The pain that we felt or the thoughts of the shoulda, woulda, coulda running threw our minds.
In the middle of all of the commotion Jackson looked at me and said “ why are you and Daddy Crying? I’m Fine!
Although he doesn’t know what is happening inside his body or what this Journey hold for him, he is so strong and Brave.
At this point we don’t know the details of the type of leukemia Jackson has. Monday he will get a Bone Marrow Biopsy that will determine that as well as the direction of the treatment. We know he will be here while he starts Chemo and that it will start within a day or so of the results of the biopsy.
Matt and I are so incredibly blessed with an amazing support system, awesome friends and amazing family. The outpouring love and prayers have definitely been felt by both of us. We appreciate every single one of you who commented, called, text or messaged us and came to visit. If we did not get back to you please know we so appreciate it.
A special thank you to Tashina Calame for being here with us as we heard the terrifying news. Rosie Pagliai Lozano, Mindy Beurskens and Tim Beurskens for taking care of our other kiddos. Knowing they are loved and cared for when we are so far away is so comforting. My mom and Sister for making the trip to visit with us today.
Misti Foreman-Burns and her sister Megan for the amazing gifts that they brought by. Items that have been so awesome to have that we didn’t even think to bring. And Jackson is over the moon with all the cool toys. Thank you so much.
Thank you to Jay Lane for bringing so many nice things by for Jackson. This was so incredibly sweet of you.
We are blown away with all the kindness and love. We appreciate each and everyone of you. We ask that you keep our little guy in your prayers as we face this Journey. We ask for prayers for patience, understanding and strength as we fight this with him. We have no intentions of losing this fight.
We know that we have a Mighty and faithful God. We believe and trust that he will guide us through.
We will update when we can. Again, thank you to each and everyone of you.
