Doritos are good

We know that this journey will have hills and valleys...today we celebrate being on a hill!

Today was day 8 of chemo, and by the grace of God he is still not feeling the effects with the exception of a few sores in his mouth. And even those haven’t affected his appetite much. He polished off plenty of goldfish, a little bit of muffin, some strawberries and of course Doritos! In the words of Jackson...Corn is good!!

For the first time since being admitted he felt up to taking a walk. Gigi escorted Fred (his IV pole) while they took a tour of the 5th floor. He saw some play areas that he is super anxious to explore once he’s cleared.

While I was there he watched Moana and played a Paw Patrol game. He showed me some new gifts and even got to open up a few more. He had a blast playing with a flashlight (that accompanied an Usborne book) and even was jumping around on the couch looking behind it and got on the floor to look under it. Mostly he just wanted to shine it in my eye, and then he tried to master the Nintendo DS. It’s so good to see him smiling and up and out of bed.

While mom was catching up with nurse Alli, he had a good old time playing with Snapchat on my phone, all while watching Space Jam for the umpteenth time. He enjoyed seeing Aunt Amy with a beard and then he settled in to play MarioKart on the Wii. He giggled at my bad driving, especially when I hit the cows. Today was a good day. Pain is finally being managed and there were lots of smiles. Continue to pray that he tolerates the chemo. This boy has my heart and his smile made my day.
